Once in Nerano we will expect a snack with croissants and fruit juices. Then on board a comfortable boat we will depart for the excursion through "the sea of the Sirens", accompanied by an expert guide. A place of unspoilt beauty located in front of the Faraglioni di Capri, in Massa Lubrense, the bay is included in the protected area of Punta Campanella. Aboard the boat we will explore "li Galli" an archipelago of three islands also known as "La Sireneuse", because in the past the idea that it was inhabited by sirens was more than a supposition. The largest of the islands has an elongated shape that suggests the profile of a dolphin, is called Long Rooster and has been inhabited since Roman times. Among the most illustrious guests of this paradise in the Mediterranean were Greta Garbo, Ingrid Bergman, Sofia Loren and Jacqueline Kennedy. In the 1920s the Russian dancer and choreographer Leonide Massine discovered a beautiful island, covered with Roman ruins and completely uninhabited and bought it. He transformed the ancient Roman watchtower into an open-air theater studio.
Upon the death of the dancer, Li Galli was purchased by another Russian dancer, even better known to the general public. Rudolf Nureyev had fallen in love with Gallo Lungo and planned to open a dance school on the island. It was later purchased by a wealthy businessman from Campania. A few hundred meters away is the islet of Iscla famous for having been purchased in the immediate post-war period by Eduardo De Filippo and for being the buen retiro in which the latter took refuge to write some of his masterpieces.
At the end of the boat ride, which will take us almost to the Faraglioni of Capri, we will return to Nerano where there will be lunch in a well-known restaurant with fish menu.
