Guided tour through the historic center with the Roman theater, the Arch of Trajan, the church of Santa Sofia and the Sannio Museum. City of ancient foundation and capital of the most important and vital duchy of the South during the Longobard domination, Benevento preserves traditions and testimonies of a long and prestigious past. We will retrace its history through the works of art and monuments, of which Santa Sofia is a unique place in the south. Then we will move to Sepino. In the area, crossed by the ancient Tratturo Pescasseroli - Candela, we find the archaeological excavations of the ancient Roman town of Saepinum and the ancient Samnite city Saipins: the theater, the forum, the basilica, the baths, the Thistle and the Decumano, the Bojano Gate, the megalithic walls and the majestic entrance gates.
