Maiori and Ravello

Carnival on the Coast

Departure for the Amalfi Coast. Here sun, nature, architectural and artistic wonders frame magical places out of time.  Guided tour of Ravello’s favourite jewel, Villa Rufolo.  The structure of the Villa is unique from an architectural and decorative point of view, which has never failed to arouse the surprise and amazement of those travelers who in different ways have gone here over the centuries. The atmosphere of the site is marked by the millennial influences of Arab culture. The main building, which includes a chapel with barrel vaults and an impressive hall, the ancient "dining room", divided by low and massive columns, is a palace on three floors, which had to accommodate high-ranking figures, including Pope Adrian IV and King Robert of Anjou. The charm of Villa Rufolo reaches the acme in the famous garden, loved by Wagner and on the terrace overlooking the sea is celebrated the Festival dedicated to the famous musician. The garden of Villa Rufolo, known as the "garden of the soul", occupies two levels and can be reached along a tree-lined avenue with a decidedly Victorian air. The ancient walls, almost hidden by cypresses and lindens, lead to the Moorish cloister.
Typical lunch to enjoy the delights of the place.
Continue to Maiori to watch, on the seafront at the Gran Carnevale Maiorese. The streets full of color, the festive climate and the typical masks will parade on the seafront. Confetti, music, floats, dances, extraordinary shows, jokes and fun for this event made unique by the beautiful landscape. End of services.
