Mysteries of the ancient city

The beginning of the guided tour is Piazza Bellini, where you can see the remains of the ancient Greek walls. You cross the decumanus maximus, now Via Tribunali, along which you can see relics of Roman times reused in different buildings and the suggestive bell tower of Pietrasanta. Once in Piazza San Gaetano, the ancient forum of the Roman city, we discover the multiform stratification present under the Complex of San Lorenzo Maggiore (optional visit). We reach the lower decumanus, popularly called Spaccanapoli and along the ancient thistle, today Via San Gregorio Armeno we will discover other signs of the ancient, including the statue of the Nile, testimony of the links between tradition and Egyptian culture. The route ends in Piazza del Gesù.
